Let's Talk About Diversity

Too much Equal Opportunities training is, in my opinion, focused on legislation, which often does little more than put a veneer of correct behaviour over prejudice. I want trainers to be able to dig deeper and have real conversations about diversity and equality. By shifting the focus from ‘rules’ to beliefs and understanding, I’ll help you deliver deeper, lasting change that comes from a genuine desire to make workplaces (and society) more equitable.

You’ll Gain:

  • An awareness of the stereotype traps we all fall into, the impact they can have, and the ability to help others come to the same understanding.

  • Creative, powerful activities that will help you explore prejudice and the impact it has on individuals and groups at work and in society.

  • Ideas to help you create a new focus; on similarities rather than differences.

  • Ways to create a safe space in which participants feel empowered to share their own experiences and stories, and a recognition of the value this brings to individuals, teams and organisations.

  • An understanding of how experiential learning activities can give participants real insight and lightbulb moments into equality issues, and an understanding of why equal opportunities legislation exists.

  • The ability to help participants understand the differences between equality and equity, and the role of legislation in addressing the latter.
