November’s Sessions:

Learning Journeys and GiraffePad (Mark Williams)
Engaging learners when we're present, be that in the room or on Zoom is a skill we all, as facilitators, strive to master early on. We also know that much of the real learning happens when we're not present, with their learning journey starting long before we meet them and long after we wrap up our live sessions. Without support, motivation, challenge, coaching nudges and additional resources that can make such a difference, we are reliant on incredibly self-motivated learners to ensure their learning journey delivers the performance improvements they were seeking.

We'll work together to create simple methods that help us to have the right degree of involvement throughout the whole learning journey to help ensure the learning truly sticks. I'll also share how we have developed GiraffePad as a solution to help make this an easy and engaging process.

Let’s Talk TA (Anjana Rajani)
Transactional Analysis (TA) is a psychoanalytic theory developed in the late 1950s and still used commonly in therapy, coaching and organisational training/development. Particularly useful in raising awareness and understanding of ourselves and each other. Loved for its simplicity and easy to use tools and techniques. The fundamental ethos of the theory rests on the principles:

  • I’m OK - You’re OK.

  • We are simply different.

  • We can all grow develop and change.

This insightful and interactive session promises to give you an introduction to a few simple TA tools and techniques to either implement in your own training or for your own personal development.

A Vision for Learning and Development (Rod Webb)

As we approach the end of a year, and hopefully, the end of a very challenging period for our industry, this seems like a perfect opportunity to reflect on the journey ahead for L&D. Using an adaptation of a Trainers’ Library module, we’ll work together to create a vision statement for our industry, describing our ambitions for Learning and Development and the values we believe will matter as we plan for 2022.
